Not On Our Watch!

In November 2019, the West Basin Board of Directors voted 4-1 to move forward with an unnecessary and harmful 20 million-gallons-per-day (MGD) ocean desal project along Santa Monica Bay.

This is a major setback for our regional efforts to address climate change and enhance our local water supply.

Los Angeles Waterkeeper will continue to fight this disastrous, financially irresponsible project at every turn. But we need your help.

In December, Los Angeles Waterkeeper will bring suit against West Basin for their severely deficient Environmental Impact Report. This legal challenge will be long and will cost LAW upwards of $250,000. We need your support to ensure this project does not move forward.
