River Assessment Fieldwork Team (RAFT)

Interested in understanding the ecological health of the LA River and its connection to public health? Join our RAFT team for monthly fieldwork excursions!

Throughout the dry season, we monitor sections of the LA River and its tributaries to gain information that helps us tell the story about the health of the river and its connection to human well-being. As a volunteer, you will gain scientific monitoring skills, with a focus on water quality, insect diversity and abundance, and human use activity. You must attend a RAFT training prior to joining the monthly excursions. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. This program runs from April through October.

Reach out to melissavm@lawaterkeeper.org to learn more or to sign up to be a RAFT volunteer.
